Dolphin’s A, B & C teams were all in action in the opening round of the 2007/08
Wiltshire ASA Moonraker Winter League on Saturday.
Dolphin
B were in tremendous form at Trowbridge Leisure Centre, recording 21 firsts
and 9 seconds on their way to victory over the home B team. Dolphin
only finished outside the top three on one occasion in the 39 event gala with the
boys’ under 13 group of Craig Lofts, Andrew
Butler, Alex
Chantler-Mayne, Sam
Hunter, Jon
Fouracre & Liam
Jefferies particularly impressive.

Meanwhile
at the Five Rivers Leisure Centre in
Salisbury
, seventeen swimmers from the original team sheet were unavailable for the A
team due to their participation at the Bath Open Meet or other commitments. Nevertheless,
the small squad gave a good account of themselves, swimming more than their usual
quota of events with many youngsters taking the opportunity to test themselves against
considerably older opponents. Dolphin
were eventually beaten into third place by the hosts, Salisbury Stingrays and Trowbridge
A in a very friendly and exciting gala.

praise goes to Swim Channel’s Lydia
Harper who put in some strong swims having been called
up at the eleventh hour to take part in her first team competition.

The C team found themselves among formidable A team opposition at the Link Centre but turned in a brave performance and demonstrated a remarkable team spirit in this arduous contest, won convincingly by Tigersharks A.
