Coleman Stars at Salisbury Open Gala

Adam Coleman – 10 years

Adam Coleman emerged as the ‘Top 10 Year Old Boy’ at the 2008 Salisbury Open Gala held at the Five Rivers Leisure Centre on Sunday, securing gold or silver podium finishes in all of his 5 events.  Abbey Hawkins was also in outstanding form finishing runner up in the girls’ 9 year old category.  Coleman and Hawkins were amongst a 42 strong Dolphin team drawn predominantly from the club’s less experienced swimmers in the Junior, Senior and National squads with many youngsters competing for the very first time at an Open Meet and demonstrated their excellent skills against top clubs including Millfield School and Bournemouth.

Swimming Development Officer, Steve Cryer, said afterwards that he “was very pleased with the exceptional performances and results – we achieved 151 personal best times from 189 swims.”
