Chris
Jones won
the final of the men’s 50m breaststroke this afternoon on the last day of the ASA
National Championships in a Scottish & Wiltshire record time of 28.69. He took
the gold medal ahead of Kristopher Gilchrist and Ross Clark to become the National
Champion.

The penultimate
day of competition saw Jones in
the pool for a very competitive men’s open 50m freestyle competition in which he was
joined by Ben Matthews and Mark
Tanner. The
trio finished forty second, eighty second and ninety second respectively.
Meanwhile
in the ASA Swim 21 National Youth Championships yesterday Elizabeth
Beckett added
another top ten finish in the 200m breaststroke for 14 year old girls to her 100m
feat on day one.
In the
14/15 year old girls’ competition Tilly
Gray achieved
a top twenty finish in the 200m with a time of 2.27.46.
Mel
Agius was
thirty sixth in the 400m freestyle today.
